[:es]Women’s Polo Championships. Year after year the presence of women polo players has been increasing.
In the month of women, we celebrate the GAUNTLET OF POLO®, a cup made up of three tournaments: the C.V. Whitney Cup®, the USPA Gold Cup® and the U.S. Open Women ‘s Polo Championship®, one of the most prestigious women’s polo cups in the United States, with a prize of $100,000 dollars for the winning team.
This tournament is held every year in California, organized by the United States Women ‘s Polo Association, and first played in 1937, but was not officially recognized as a national tournament until 2011.
This year more than 15 teams will be playing, and whichever team wins all three tournaments will be crowned the GAUNTLET Champion.
In addition, a historic partnership between Global Polo Entertainment and ESPN is being celebrated, allowing the event to be televised, bringing the polo culture to more corners of the world.
